Barley Cottage was once a traditional farm workers cottage set in the heart of the farm steading. Today, having been treated to a full makeover in 2012, it is a 4* Visit Scotland self-catering holiday home set alongside other private residential properties on rural Kilduff Farm.
Renovated with comfort at the forefront, Barley Cottage offers ridiculously comfy beds, cosy afternoons in front of the log burning stove, modern bath/shower rooms, a private secluded garden and breath-taking views across picturesque countryside. It is ideal for family holidays, time-out with friends and romantic country breaks.
Located in the rural countryside, the cottage is ideal for family life. The large, private garden is accessed through the living room and is enclosed for privacy and the safety of young children. The patio and lawn area has garden furniture and a barbecue while child-friendly extras like a travel cot, highchair, stair-gate and toys are available at no extra cost for our ‘wee’ guests.
Set in the heart of East Lothian between Haddington and North Berwick, Barley Cottage is the perfect base from which to enjoy all that this spectacular part of the world has to offer. Set on the outskirts of Edinburgh, you can enjoy over 40 miles of stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, picturesque countryside, award-winning tourist attractions and world-famous golf courses.
Barley Cottage has been lovingly renovated into a delightful three-bedroom self-catering holiday home with unspoiled views rural views across East Lothian.
The accommodation sleeps six people over two levels with the living space downstairs and bedrooms upstairs.
The kitchen is a lovely, bright room with a dining table and all the modern conveniences you will require; electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
The large living room, like the kitchen, is south facing with views over picturesque countryside. There is a wood-burning stove with plenty of cut logs to keep you cosy. There is a flat screen LCD TV with DVD player and a CD player with radio and iPod/iPhone dock.
The living room leads out to the private, enclosed south-facing garden which is perfect for little ones to play safely and big ones to sit and relax while soaking up the breath-taking rural views. There is a patio and lawn area with garden furniture and a barbecue provided.
There is a large bathroom downstairs and a shower room with underfloor heating upstairs.
The two main bedrooms upstairs have the option of super-king or twin beds with the third bedroom having full size bunk beds.
